+ What is it?

The Sciton BBL BroadBand Light is an innovative light based therapy that can be used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions by administering broadband light to the outer layer of the skin, promoting collagen regeneration and changing the structure of skin cells on a molecular level. Ideal for pigmentation issues. Must have consultation to determine candidacy.

+ Before

Stay hydrated and avoid coming in on an empty stomach. This will provide comfort during your appointment.

Please arrive to your appointment without makeup.

Avoid exfoliating products or treatments, topical Retinols, and AHA/BHA acids for 4 days prior to treatment.

If approved by your healthcare provider, do not take any blood-thinning medications such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Excedrin, Aleve, etc.

+ While you're here

BBL (sometimes known as IPL) delivers pulses of light energy to the targeted areas of your skin. The light gets absorbed and converted to heat, stimulating your skin cells to regenerate. Depending on the treatment mode, different wavelengths of light are used. Numbing cream is applied prior to treatment for patient comfort.

Do not use hot water for 24 hours after your treatment. You may shower with lukewarm water. Skin should be patted dry and NOT rubbed.

24 hours after treatment you may apply makeup as long as there is no epidermal bleeding. Powdered, mineral makeup is recommended.
